Michigan’s Weather Shift: Storms Pause, Cooler Days Ahead

A fresh look at Michigan’s weather for the coming days shows a dramatic change. Tonight, the southwest corner of the state could see strong storms from 3 to 5 p. m. , but most of the damage‑potential winds and tornado threat will arrive later, around midnight to 1 a. m. The big upper‑level wind bundle that powers these storms will be out of sync with the surface conditions, which lowers the chance for severe weather. Cloud cover from the west keeps temperatures cooler during the day, cutting off the heat that feeds thunderstorms.
