Midlife Health Mission: New Nonprofit Sets Up CEO and Expert Board
Seattle, Washington, USA,Tue May 19 2026
A fresh nonprofit called the Institute Advancing Women’s Health (InAWH) has just named Paula Schneider as its chief executive officer and announced a global medical advisory board. The organization’s aim is to narrow the large gap between what scientists know about midlife women’s health and how doctors actually treat it. Over 1. 4 billion women worldwide are past the age of 45, yet research shows many feel left alone during this life stage.
InAWH plans to partner with doctors, researchers and other stakeholders to turn scientific findings into easy‑to‑use tools. Schneider says women deserve clear information, better risk awareness and more informed conversations with their health providers. Her background leading the Susan G. Komen organization gave her experience in women’s health and large‑scale partnerships.
The advisory board will include specialists from endocrinology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, epidemiology and genomics. Members come from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. Their role is to guide InAWH’s priorities and help shape the organization’s first major gathering in October 2026.
The nonprofit was founded by Factory Capital, an Australian investment firm focused on women’s health. Its managing director, Anna Samuelsson, saw how early perimenopausal symptoms were often dismissed because of age bias. This experience highlighted a structural gap in care that InAWH intends to fill by building better data systems and care models.
InAWH’s first step is to bring together leaders in healthcare, research and policy. The goal is to create a clear plan for action that will improve midlife care worldwide. For more details, the organization directs people to its website.
