Prices are set to go up, with the standard ad-free plan jumping from $15. 49 to $17.99 per month. Netflix says this will help them invest more in programming and improve their service. The company also reported a huge increase in revenue and announced a $15 billion stock buyback, which made their stock price jump 13% in one day. They plan to stop sharing quarterly subscriber numbers and will instead give updates twice a year. Netflix is looking to grow even more, especially with live events and sports.
