Titus Welliver, known for his roles in Bosch and Ozark, is set to star in a new crime series called The Westies. This show, which will be exclusive to MGM+, has recently added two more actors to its already impressive cast. Sarah Bolger, famous for her role in Mayans M. C. , and Stanley Morgan, known for The Sandman, have joined the team.
The Westies is created by Chris Brancato and Michael Panes, who have previously worked on successful shows like Godfather of Harlem. The series will be set in the 1980s in New York City's Hell's Kitchen district. It will follow the story of Glenn Keenan, played by Welliver, who is an FBI agent working with Birdie Polk, portrayed by Jessica Frances Dukes. The story will revolve around a notorious gang called The Westies and Keenan's connection to one of its prominent members.
Bolger will play Bridget Walsh, a tough and strategic IRA operative with a complicated past. She is also the girlfriend of Jimmy Roarke, played by Tom Brittney. Morgan will take on the role of Mickey Flanagan, a reckless member of The Westies who has just been released from Bellevue. His loyalty to his friends often leads to trouble.
The Westies is shaping up to be a highly anticipated show. With a talented cast and a compelling story, it has the potential to be a hit for MGM+. Fans of Welliver's previous work will likely be excited to see him in this new role. The show joins other upcoming MGM+ originals like Spider-Noir and American Hostage, adding to the network's growing lineup of original content.
