UVA Football is making some big moves! Coach Tony Elliott just announced some new roles for his team. ShaDon Brown is now the cornerbacks coach, and Joey Orck is taking over as the offensive line coach. Elliott is pretty happy about this. He thinks it shows that the program is all about helping both players and coaches grow.
Brown is no stranger to football. He's been around for a while, coaching at places like West Virginia, Louisville, and even Army. Now, he's got some extra duties. He'll be helping with recruiting, which was previously handled by John Rudzinski. Curome Cox is also getting a new role. He's now in charge of the safeties and will keep his job as the defensive pass game coordinator.
Orck is another experienced coach. He's been at Virginia for four years and has over 15 years of coaching under his belt. He's replacing Terry Heffernan, who just got a big job at Stanford. Orck started as an offensive analyst and got promoted to senior offensive analyst before this season.
Elliott didn't stop there. He also brought back Jonathan Celestin as the assistant defensive backs coach. Celestin played in the NFL and has been coaching for a while. He was at UAB last season but is now back at Virginia. Landon Martin is the new assistant offensive line coach. He's got a background in South Carolina, coaching at Newberry College and the University of South Carolina.
All these changes show that UVA Football is serious about building a strong team. It's not just about the players; it's about the coaches too. With new roles and fresh faces, the team is ready to take on new challenges.
