New Giga Coaster Shakes Six Flags With Record‑Breaking Heights
Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington, USASun Jun 14 2026
The newest thrill at Six Flags Over Texas is set to launch in September 2026, and it promises to outdo every other coaster in the park. The ride, called Tormenta Rampaging Run, will reach 309 feet above ground and stretch 4, 199 feet across the landscape. Riders can expect a rush to speeds of 87 miles per hour and a drop that tilts 95 degrees beyond vertical, plunging 285 feet in one smooth motion.
This giant of a coaster is not just tall; it also pushes the limits in other ways. It will host the world’s highest Immelmann inversion, soaring to 218 feet, and the tallest vertical loop at 197 feet. All these features together make it the fastest, longest, and most daring dive coaster ever built.
Designing a structure that large required more than just engineering skill. The team at Quorum Architects turned to Autodesk Revit, a cutting‑edge software that creates detailed 3D models of the ride. By visualizing every part of the coaster before construction, they could spot and fix potential clashes early on. This tech‑savvy approach is why the ride is considered one of the most high‑tech coasters worldwide.
Tormenta will join a small group of “giga” coasters—those standing between 300 and 399 feet tall. Currently, only seven such giants exist around the globe, with five located in the United States. The most famous among them is Fury 325 at Carowinds, which reaches 325 feet.
The new coaster will sit in the park’s Spain section, complementing a theme that celebrates the “Running of the Bulls. ” The area will feature fresh food options and décor that echo this lively motif, creating an immersive experience for visitors.
While the Yukon Striker already holds records in speed, length, and height for dive coasters, Tormenta Rampaging Run will surpass it in every category. When it opens later this year, guests can expect a record‑shattering adventure that blends cutting‑edge design with unforgettable thrills.
