New Investment Boosts OVO’s Global Reach

Applied Real Intelligence, a firm based in Santa Monica, has decided to give financial support to Toronto‑based brand October’s Very Own (OVO). The exact amount was not shared, but the move signals confidence in OVO’s growing popularity.
OVO started as a music group in 2008, founded by Drake, Oliver El‑Khatib and Noah “40” Shebib. Over time it has become a full‑service lifestyle company, mixing music, fashion and other cultural products.
Today the brand runs its own online store, partners with other designers, and owns physical shops in Canada, Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas and London. Its chief executive, Derek “Drex” Jancar, is focused on expanding both the online sales and the number of retail locations.
Applied Real Intelligence was created in 2018 by Dr. Zack Ellison, who looks for companies that can grow quickly while staying true to their core values. He said that few brands keep the same level of quality and relevance over time, and OVO is a standout example.
The investment comes at a moment when consumers worldwide want brands that feel authentic and connected to real culture. OVO’s mix of music, fashion and lifestyle gives it a unique edge in that trend.
