New stores and upgrades coming to a Lancaster shopping spot
Rockvale, Lancaster, USATue Jun 02 2026
A Lancaster mall is getting a fresh wave of new businesses while bigger changes are still in the works. A mix of shops and services are opening in recent months, adding to the variety already available at The Shops @Rockvale. A furniture and décor store called A New Dawn just moved into a 2, 700-square-foot space in early May, giving shoppers another option for home goods. Not far away, an ice cream and chocolate shop called Twisted Sisters plans to open in June with homemade treats like chocolate-dipped ice cream and specialty candies. A clothing consignment store named Uptown Cheapskate will also open in June, offering gently used designer apparel for men and women in a large 8, 094-square-foot area.
The mall isn’t just adding retail spots—it’s getting new experiences too. A baseball and softball training center called The Cage opened back in March, giving local players a place to practice their swings. Cooking classes will soon be available at Zest Cooking School, set to open in August. Fitness fans can already check out W. O. L. F. Fitness, which has opened its doors. Sports lovers now have a new place to play too—the Back Nine Golf Lancaster-Rockvale just started welcoming players on its course.
More businesses are on the way, including a Mexican restaurant serving authentic dishes, a mini-golf and adventure spot, and an auto parts store. Behind the scenes, a big $100 million redevelopment project is transforming the area into a bigger, more modern space. When finished, the shopping center will include homes, shops, restaurants, and places for fun. The first new homes, called Mi-Place at Rockvale, are already under construction with 480 units planned over time. Right now, only four of the fifteen planned buildings are being built.
The area is changing fast, but some might wonder if all these new additions will actually help the local community. While new stores and homes could bring convenience and jobs, will the prices stay reasonable for regular shoppers? And with so many changes happening at once, how will the traffic and parking keep up?
