New Voices for the Nuggets: A Change in Broadcast Team
Denver, Colorado, USAThu Jun 11 2026
Altitude Sports announced that it will not renew the contracts of two long‑time broadcasters, Scott Hastings and Chris Marlowe, as part of a new direction for the station.
Marlowe, who has been the regional TV play‑by‑play voice for the Nuggets for 22 years, posted a brief note on social media saying that he will not return next season and that the company is moving in a different direction.
Despite stepping away from the Nuggets, Marlowe made it clear that he is not retiring; he has a long history of calling sports events, from USC basketball to NCAA championships in swimming, gymnastics and volleyball.
Hastings, a former NBA player with 11 years in the league, has also been a familiar voice in Denver sports, having worked for the Broncos before joining Altitude Sports.
The station also let go of team reporter and studio analyst Chris Dempsey, ending a trio that had been closely associated with the franchise for over a decade.
Altitude Sports, founded in 2004 and owned by Stan Kroenke’s sports entertainment group, has been a key broadcaster for the Nuggets, Avalanche, Rams and Arsenal FC.
The organization’s president highlighted that Hastings, Marlowe and Dempsey have shaped the fan experience for years, especially during the 2023 championship run, and will be remembered as ambassadors of the team.
The decision marks a shift in how the Nuggets present their games to fans, potentially bringing fresh voices and new styles to the broadcasts.
