She called Hochul the "Worst Governor in America, " highlighting issues like high taxes, energy costs, and rising prices. Stefanik's campaign video echoed these points, blaming Hochul for the state's affordability crisis. Interestingly, the video made no mention of Trump, despite Stefanik's close ties to him. Hochul and her party aren't taking Stefanik's challenge lightly. They're using her Trump connection against her, pointing out that New York voters favored Vice President Kamala Harris over Trump in the recent election. Hochul even took to social media to challenge Stefanik, saying, "Bring it on. " Stefanik's campaign seems to be gaining traction within the Republican party. She's already secured endorsements from more than half of New York's Republican county chairs and the state's GOP chair. This support could give her a strong footing in the upcoming elections. Stefanik's political journey is notable. She started as a staffer for Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign and later gained prominence as a vocal defender of Trump during his first impeachment inquiry.
