Niwot Artists Bid for a Better Future
Boulder County, Colorado, Niwot, USAWed Jun 03 2026
A Friday evening in Niwot will turn into an art showdown, with local painters and creators offering their works for sale in both live and silent auctions. The event, hosted at Niwot Hall from 5:30 to 8 p. m. , will bring together about twenty artists who have poured their talent into a variety of pieces.
The money raised will be split between two important community projects. Half of the proceeds will go toward upgrading Niwot Hall, a historic venue that hosts groups like the Rotary Club and the Business Association. The planned improvements include a new courtyard, stage, and windows; the hall has already collected $30, 000 of its $350, 000 goal.
The other half will help protect and display three willow sculptures that depict Cheyenne and Arapaho figures. These carvings were created by the late Eddie Running Wolf, and his son is working hard to restore them after years of weather damage. The community hopes to build a permanent canopy near the LoBo Regional Trail so the pieces can be seen by everyone.
Tickets for the night cost $35 and come with wine, snacks, and a special cocktail from The Wheel House. In addition to paintings, attendees can bid on flower arrangements and even win a spot in an art class.
The organizers expect the auction to raise at least $10, 000 for the projects, which would bring the total funds closer to the goals of both Niwot Hall and the sculpture shelter. The event is a reminder that art can be more than decoration—it can also protect history and strengthen local bonds.
