In a controversial move, the Oklahoma Board of Education has revoked the teaching license of Summer Boismier, a former teacher who gained national attention for her book-ban protest in 2022.
Boismier, who now works at the Brooklyn Public Library in New York City, had covered part of her classroom bookshelf in red tape, labeling it 'Books the state didn’t want you to read' and displayed a QR code of the Brooklyn Public Library’s catalogue of banned books.
