Ole Miss Dominates, Citadel Fights On

Ole Miss showed why they are a top team in college football. They crushed The Citadel 49-0. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss had a great game. He threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns. The Rebels scored on six of their first seven drives. They had 603 yards of total offense. The Citadel had only 106 yards. The Citadel's coach, Maurice Drayton, praised Ole Miss. He said they are a very good team. The Bulldogs had chances to score but missed two field goals. Linebacker Mikey Rosa had a strong game. He made four tackles, intercepted a pass, and forced a fumble.Ole Miss scored quickly. They had 42 points by the start of the third quarter. The Citadel had only 38 yards of offense at that point. The Bulldogs controlled the clock but couldn't score. Running back Beau Herrington had a 41-yard run. This was the third time this season the Bulldogs were shut out. The game started badly for The Citadel. Ole Miss scored on five of their first six drives. They had 444 yards by halftime. The Bulldogs only had two first downs in the first half. Coach Drayton said they tried to stop big plays. He gave credit to Ole Miss's offense. Coach Drayton stayed positive. He said the team will keep working hard. He believes in their process.
