USATue May 26 2026
Ondo Finance announced that its founder, Nathan Allman, has died unexpectedly. The company shared the news on X without revealing a cause.
Allman was a key figure in shaping Ondo’s mission. He believed that technology could make finance more open and fair, and his vision remains at the core of every product the firm develops.
Ian De Bode, who has overseen Ondo’s strategy and operations for more than two years, will step into the role of CEO. The leadership team expressed full confidence in his ability to carry forward Allman’s legacy.
Allman earned a degree from Brown University before joining Goldman Sachs’ digital‑assets group. In 2021 he launched Ondo, which quickly became a leader in tokenized real‑world assets. Under his guidance, the company managed $3. 5 billion in total value locked.
During Allman’s tenure, Ondo introduced several notable products. USDY is a stablecoin that offers yields; OUSG represents a tokenized U. S. Treasury fund, and the firm also offered tokenized equities through Ondo Global Markets.
Ondo stated that it will continue to develop the ideas Allman started, honoring his memory by building on the foundation he laid.
