Plaud's New Gadgets: A Smarter Way to Capture Your Meetings

Plaud, a company known for its innovative hardware, has introduced two new products just before the big Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The first is a new AI notetaker called the Plaude NotePin S, and the second is a desktop app designed to help you take notes during online meetings. The Plaude NotePin S is an upgrade to their previous pin-styled notetaker. This new version comes with a physical button that lets you start and stop recordings easily. You can also tap the button during a recording to highlight important points, a feature similar to the Plaud Note Pro. One of the best things about the Plaude NotePin S is its versatility. It comes with a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin, and wristband, so you can wear it in different ways. Plus, it now supports Apple Find My, which helps you locate the device if you misplace it.The device has 64GB of storage and a battery life that lasts up to 20 hours of continuous recording. It also has two MEMS mics that can capture clear audio within 9. 8 feet. Users get 300 minutes of free transcription every month. Compared to the Note Pro, the NotePin S has a shorter recording range and lower battery life. However, it is smaller and more portable, making it perfect for people who are always on the move. This is Plaud's fourth device, and they have already sold over 1. 5 million units. While their previous devices focused on in-person meetings, the new desktop app aims to compete with other meeting notetakers like Granola, Fathom, and Fireflies. The app can detect when a meeting is active and prompt you to capture the transcript. The Mac app uses system audio to record the meeting and then uses AI to turn it into structured notes. Last year, Plaud introduced multimodal inputs for notetaking, allowing users to add images, typed notes, and audio transcription. This functionality is now being brought to the desktop app as well.
