Amazon’s Prime Video is stepping into the world of college basketball by signing a multi‑year deal with Duke University. The agreement will bring three high‑profile neutral‑site games each season to the streaming platform, marking Prime Video’s first foray into college sports after previously airing NFL and NBA events. The season’s lineup starts with a November 25 clash against UConn in Las Vegas. The Huskies are looking to repeat their dramatic comeback from 19 points down, a moment that captured national attention during the NCAA Elite Eight. Next up is a December 21 showdown with Michigan, the reigning national champions, set in New York’s Madison Square Garden. The final game of the trio takes place on February 20, where Duke will face Gonzaga in Detroit.
Prime Video’s sports chief, Charlie Neiman, said the partnership offers fans “marquee matchups featuring the most successful programs in the nation. ” He added that Duke’s games go beyond a simple schedule, providing excitement for viewers worldwide. In return, Duke has agreed to participate in select ESPN‑run events during the 2027–28 and 2028–29 seasons. This arrangement gives the university flexibility to host Prime Video games while staying aligned with ESPN’s broader partnership in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Athletic director Nina King highlighted that the deal will broaden Duke’s global reach. The Blue Devils, who have claimed five NCAA championships, are now poised to showcase their talent on a new platform.
