Rain and Chill Drop Over Southern California This Weekend

A weak storm is rolling into Southern California, bringing brief light showers across the region from Friday night through Saturday. Weather forecasters are unsure of the exact arrival time, but they predict the rainfall will be modest and cause little disruption to daily life. Most places can expect around a tenth of an inch of rain, while higher elevations might see up to a third of an inch. Even though the precipitation will be light, officials have issued a Next Weather Alert for Saturday to remind residents of the forecast shift.The storm will also lower temperatures by 4 to 8 degrees, with highs staying in the 60s along coastal and valley areas. There is a small chance—about 20 percent—that morning showers could linger on Sunday, but conditions should clear by the afternoon. Rain is likely to return later in the week, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
