Rain Delays Chicago Cubs Game
Chicago, USAMon Jun 22 2026
The Cubs decided to cancel their afternoon match against the Toronto Blue Jays because heavy rain was expected over Chicago on Sunday.
Weather experts said a long, steady downpour would likely hit the city from early afternoon into the night.
The forecast warned that flooding could happen in some parts of the metro area, especially near and south of I‑88.
The game originally set for 1:20 p. m. was moved, and the teams will play a make‑up game at 1:20 p. m. on Thursday, August 6.
The storm could also produce large waves along Lake Michigan’s beaches.
Experts said some waves might reach 4 to 7 feet, which would be dangerous for swimmers and create rough conditions for boats.
The day’s high temperature was expected to reach 72 °F, with a low of 56 °F.
Conditions are predicted to improve on Monday and Tuesday, bringing dry weather.
However, a chance of storms could return on Wednesday.
