Rainy Days Ahead: What to Expect in Massachusetts
Massachusetts, USATue Jun 23 2026
The wet spell that started on Monday is still going strong, and it will keep pouring through Tuesday. Weather officials say the state could see between one and two inches of rain in total, with some towns getting as much as two inches.
Night temperatures on Monday will slide into the upper 50s to mid‑60s, and small showers or fog are likely to appear. Thunderstorms might also join the mix.
On Tuesday, daytime highs should reach the mid to high 70s. Morning clouds and rain will linger before the sky clears from west to east, leaving sunnier weather later in the day.
In the western part of the state, people in the Berkshires may still feel rain until 8 a. m. , after which clouds will cover the sky. The rest of Western Massachusetts can expect showers until about 3 p. m. , then a cloudy afternoon.
Central Massachusetts will see rain all the way into Tuesday evening, with the chance of thunderstorms throughout that period. In the east, showers and storms could persist until noon, followed by a chance of rain until about 8 p. m.
Looking ahead, most areas will finish Tuesday with roughly one to one‑and‑a‑half inches of precipitation. Temperatures will drop to the upper 50s or low 60s at night, while Wednesday promises high temperatures in the low to mid‑80s and clear skies. Night lows on Wednesday will fall into the mid‑60s in the east and mid to high 50s elsewhere, with Thursday likely bringing more sunshine and warm afternoons.
