Prosecutors claim Talley swallowed drugs and was taken to the hospital with the gun tucked under a blanket—a detail that raises questions about security in medical settings. When Talley’s cuffs were removed for a scan, he allegedly used the moment to shoot Bartholomew and his partner, leaving Bartholomew dead and the other officer badly injured. Talley now faces charges including murder and attempted murder, with his next court date set for May 20.
