The Seattle Seahawks ended their losing streak against the San Francisco 49ers with a 20-17 comeback victory. This win sends the 49ers to the bottom of the NFC West, facing one of the toughest NFL schedules ahead. The Seahawks, on the other hand, keep their playoff hopes alive.
A big factor in the win was the inexperienced offensive line. Laken Tomlinson, the starting left guard, had played almost two-thirds of the team’s offensive snaps in their entire NFL careers. This young line, surprisingly, held strong enough to let quarterback Geno Smith lead the team to a late-game victory.
At wide receiver, DK Metcalf's return meant fewer snaps for Jake Bobo and Cody White. Bobo saw just six offensive plays, the second-lowest total of the season, while White had only four offensive snaps.
On defense, linebackers Ernest Jones and Tyrice Knight stepped up big time. Together, they played 114 of 126 possible snaps, covering for the missing Tyrel Dodson and Jerome Baker in their first game without them. Jones played every snap, but the recently traded Roy Robertson-Harris only saw 19 snaps.
With Brady Russell out due to injury, Mike Morris took over special teams. He led the team with 19 special teams snaps, more than Bobo, White, and Josh Ross, who all played 14.
Looking ahead, the Seahawks prepare to host the NFC West leaders, the Arizona Cardinals, in Week 11.
