Shion Joins the Overwatch Roster
JapanWed Jun 10 2026
Overwatch is set to add a fresh face for fans: Shion, a new damage hero who works with Talon’s Vendetta group. The character was first shown in a trailer where she clashes with Sojourn, and her launch is slated for season three on June 16.
Shion brings a unique look to the game. She wears an oni mask like other Hashimoto clan members, rides a flashy motorcycle, and wields a close‑range blade that may be more than just a melee upgrade. The trailer mainly introduced her role in the story, leaving many details for players to discover on launch day.
This marks Overwatch’s 52nd character and the seventh introduced in 2026, keeping with Blizzard’s promise to add a new hero each season. The upcoming season will also feature three additional heroes, a brand‑new map set in Japan that ties into Shion’s background, and the first new non‑stadium map since the 2026 relaunch.
Shion follows Sierra, another damage hero revealed in season two, and continues the trend of expanding the roster after five new characters dropped during the 2026 relaunch. The reboot began in February, adding five heroes—Domina, Anran, Emre, Jetpack Cat, and Mizuki—to the lineup. Blizzard aims to introduce a total of ten new heroes throughout 2026.
Players can look forward to experiencing Shion on all major platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, Windows PC, and Xbox systems.
