Shocking Lawsuit Fight Over Confidentiality Deals
Hamptons, Long Island, USAFri May 01 2026
Howard Stern has taken a stand against former executive assistant Leslie Kuhn, who sued the star and his wife for $2. 5 million a few weeks ago. The 72‑year‑old host says the case is a “shakedown” and calls it a transparent sham, according to court papers. His lawyer, Ilene Farkas, added that the couple will not let this legal battle play out in front of the public eye.
The claim hinges on two confidentiality agreements that Kuhn says she never signed, yet the host insists she did. He argues these contracts protect anyone who works in his personal space and that they can be enforced to keep the Sterns’ private life off‑limits.
Kuhn began working with Howard in 2022, starting as an office manager before becoming his executive assistant. She was let go earlier this year and has now asked the court to declare the two agreements unenforceable so she can defend herself against accusations and protect her future job prospects.
In his response, Stern shared emails that he says prove Kuhn signed the agreements. He claims she filed suit to pressure him into paying her a large sum, and that he had no intention of revealing details about her dismissal. He insists the public record was created only because Kuhn and her lawyer chose to file a lawsuit, not because of any wrongdoing on his part.
The couple’s representatives have yet to comment on the new filings. Earlier this month, Kuhn accused the Sterns of creating a hostile work environment while she managed their Hamptons home and an extensive cat‑rescue operation.
Her lawsuit follows a trend of former staffers speaking out about low pay and difficult conditions under Stern’s management. In a 2023 documentary, former crew member Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling revealed that employees received little compensation despite the host’s massive earnings. Another ex‑intern, Steve Grillo, said he had to work a nightclub job while waiting for his first paycheck.
These disputes highlight the tension between high‑profile media personalities and their behind‑the‑scenes teams, raising questions about workplace fairness and the power of confidentiality agreements.
