Singapore's A*STAR and Canada's Xanadu have joined forces to push quantum technology forward. They've signed a deal to work together on several projects, like making quantum computers more accurate and creating better quantum light sources. This isn't their first time collaborating, but now they're expanding their partnership to include more institutes and explore new areas.
A*STAR is known for its strong research capabilities in photonics, semiconductors, and advanced packaging. Xanadu, on the other hand, is a leader in photonic quantum computing. Together, they aim to speed up the development of quantum technologies and make them more practical.
In addition to their research collaboration, Xanadu is also merging with a Canadian company to raise around $500 million. This money will be used to further develop Xanadu's quantum computing platform and bring it closer to solving real-world problems.
The partnership between A*STAR and Xanadu is expected to strengthen Singapore's position in the global quantum technology race. It's a big step towards making quantum computing more accessible and useful for everyone.
