Qualcomm recently chimed in on a hot topic: what makes a photo real? At a summit in Hawaii, their top exec said our brains aren't digital. They process images with context – like your smells, sounds, and feelings. So, capturing just the sensor data might not cut it. He thinks it's not as straightforward as real or fake. Context matters, he said, and we should aim to best represent what our eyes and brains do. But, he added, super fake stuff, like AI-generated moon pics, needs a clear label.Smartphones and their AI tools, like Google's Magic Eraser and Apple's Clean Up, make editing easy. So, phone makers and tech folks are pausing to ponder: how far should we go with AI photos? Yesterday, Apple hinted it wants to keep photos truthful.
