Solana Slips to $69: What the Numbers Really Say

Wed Jun 24 2026
The digital asset Solana, one of the top ten cryptocurrencies by market size, has fallen to about $69. The drop follows a warning from a trader who had earlier flagged the coin as likely to cool off after it reached resistance levels near $75. A large investor placed a very risky short position, betting the price would fall further; even after losing more than half a million dollars, that bet remains open.
Technical tools give mixed signals. One indicator, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence, still suggests buying, while measures of buyer versus seller power and relative strength show no clear direction. Data from futures contracts shows a rise in open interest, which usually means more people are adding short bets hoping the price will keep falling. At the same time, a group of top traders on Binance has increased their long positions in Solana. Overall, the token is down about 2½ % today and has lost over 45 % of its value this year.
