Impeached South Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol, is standing strong. In a letter to his supporters, he promised to "fight until the end. " This comes after his declaration of martial law led to his impeachment. The opposition party thinks Yoon is trying to cause trouble and is upset about his letter. They say he's trying to start a big fight.
A court has given the okay for Yoon's arrest. This could make him the first sitting president to be arrested in South Korea. The Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials (CIO) has until 6 January to arrest him. But it's not clear how or when they'll do it. Yoon's lawyer says the arrest warrant isn't legal. He warns that police could face trouble if they try to arrest Yoon.
Yoon's impeachment trial will continue on Friday. If he's removed from office, there will be a new election. All this started because Yoon didn't show up for questioning. A former defense minister and some top military officers have been indicted for insurrection.
