Space Quest: A New Adventure in the Stars

A Texas studio that once helped create beloved sci‑fi games has dropped a fresh trailer for its first title, EXODUS. The clip is short but packed with hints about what players can expect.
First, the game shows a fight on the edge of a place called Lyonesse. The hero, Jun, works with two sidekicks, Tom and Elise. The developers say that where you stand in battle matters a lot, and the help of your companions can decide whether you live or die. This shows that strategy is key.
Next, the party moves into a tall tower in the same area. Here the pace slows down so we can see how a mission feels between fights. The studio talks about “traversal rhythm, ” meaning you can rush through the world, but taking time to look around can pay off. A new gadget called the Railclaw—a kind of grappling hook—lets you climb to high places and move faster over dangerous ground. It is described as a core part of the hero’s gear, so it will likely appear early in the game.
The final scene takes the group into an ancient shrine on a planet named Khonsu. Huge, star‑shaped buildings loom overhead, hinting at an important quest that might unfold there.
The team has sketched out a release plan. From now until early summer, more short clips will show different aspects of the game: fights, moving around, talking to people, and the world itself. Later this summer, a longer showcase will feature full gameplay, including conversations and choices that affect the story. In the weeks before launch, they’ll zoom in on relationships with companions and romance options, a hub city called Persepolis, decision consequences, role‑playing details, and a special Time Dilation mechanic.
The company behind the game is investing heavily in this new IP, and its CEO has expressed strong confidence. Fans of classic space RPGs are watching closely, especially with another upcoming title that pays homage to the same genre.
