SpaceX and NVIDIA team up after record-breaking stock launch

Texas, USASat Jun 13 2026
Elon Musk's SpaceX just had its biggest financial moment yet. After going public in a historic IPO, its shares jumped nearly 20%. That pushed the company’s total value past $2 trillion. For a few hours, Musk became the first person ever called a "trillionaire". Right after the stock market closed, NVIDIA posted a glowing message on social media. They praised SpaceX for a flawless market debut. Musk fired back with his own enthusiastic reply. He said he wants to strengthen the bond between SpaceX and NVIDIA even more. This push for a deeper partnership might not be a surprise. SpaceX recently showed off a new kind of satellite. Called the AI1, it’s built to handle huge amounts of AI computing power—up to 150, 000 watts at its peak. The satellite includes special cooling, protection from space debris, and solar panels that unfold in orbit. All these AI1 satellites will be made at a giant factory in Texas. The features suggest they’re designed to work closely with high-powered chips—and NVIDIA makes one of the most famous ones.
Behind the scenes, SpaceX isn’t working alone. It’s building a massive chip-making plant called Terafab with help from Tesla and Intel. Before the IPO, SpaceX also signed a big deal with Google. For about $920 million every month, Google gets access to computing power equal to 110, 000 NVIDIA GPUs. That’s a massive amount of hardware, enough to run thousands of AI models at once. SpaceX didn’t stop there. It also made a similar deal with Anthropic, an AI research company. For $1. 25 billion each month—or $15 billion a year—Anthropic gets access to 220, 000 NVIDIA GPUs. That includes the latest H100, H200, and GB200 models. These partnerships show how SpaceX is becoming a key player not just in space, but in the growing AI industry on Earth.
