The FBI has alerted pro sports leagues about a series of break-ins targeting athletes' homes. Between September and November, at least nine professional athletes had their houses broken into. This isn't the first time such crimes have happened. In the past, international criminal groups have used similar methods to target celebrities and athletes.
The FBI suspects these burglaries might be connected to international gangs, possibly from South America. They are investigating if the recent incidents are linked and who might be behind them. The advisory, sent out before the news of Luka Doncic's home being targeted, urged sports leagues to warn athletes and gave tips on protecting belongings, especially during away games. Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Mike Conley Jr. , Bobby Portis, and Tyler Seguin are some of the athletes whose homes were broken into. The FBI declined to confirm the notice but mentioned they monitor threats and share information with law enforcement. They advised the public to report any suspicious activities.
