Summer Fun in Downtown Minneapolis
Minneapolis, MN, USAFri May 22 2026
Minneapolis is getting ready for a summer full of music, food and art.
The city’s council has shared a schedule that stretches from June to August.
Everyone can find something to enjoy, whether they like dancing, cooking or watching sports.
The first day of the season starts on June 3 at The Commons.
Families can play lawn games, taste food from trucks and even sing along to “Grease” at dusk.
A few days later, artist Saype will paint a huge mural on Boom Island.
He wants people of all ages to help him create a piece that belongs to the whole community.
June 6 brings a free block party at the Prince Mural.
People can sing together for two hours in honor of the legendary singer’s birthday.
From June 11 to June 27, soccer fans can catch World Cup 2026 matches on a giant screen at Peavey Plaza.
The next week, Nicollet Mall will host a parade of trucks and emergency vehicles on June 18.
It’s a chance to see police, fire and sanitation trucks up close.
The Stone Arch Bridge Festival returns on June 20 and 21.
More than 200 artists will display their work, food stalls line the path, and families can play games.
The Twin Cities Pride Festival will run on June 27 and 28.
It is the largest free pride event in the country, featuring four stages of music and over 650 vendors that support LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities.
In early July, Taste of Minnesota happens on the 3rd and 4th near Nicollet Mall.
Local chefs, breweries and food trucks will showcase the best of Minnesota cuisine.
July 4th is packed with fireworks, free shows and a day-long celebration at Water Works.
The event runs from 8 a. m. to 10 p. m. , and the fireworks are one of the biggest in the state.
