Teddy Persico Jr. : A Mob Boss's Legal Troubles

Teddy Persico Jr. , a well-known figure in the Colombo crime family, is facing sentencing in federal court. This isn't his first run-in with the law. Just a few weeks ago, he admitted to breaking parole. Now, he's looking at up to two years in prison, but experts think he might get off with a shorter sentence, around five to eleven months. Persico Jr. has a history of trouble. In 2023, he was sentenced to five years for his role in a labor union extortion scheme. He was supposed to stay away from other mob members as part of his parole. But, it seems he couldn't keep that promise. In August, he was caught on camera talking to a friend outside a hospital in Brooklyn. He said he didn't think this friend was on his no-contact list. He also claimed he didn't know he wasn't supposed to talk to him. But, prosecutors say he knew exactly what he was doing.Then, in December, he was seen talking to three other Colombo members at a restaurant. He said he just wished them a Merry Christmas. But, prosecutors say he was up to something. Persico Jr. is no stranger to the mob life. His uncle was a notorious mob boss. And, he's been involved in the family business for a long time. But, he says he wants to change. He even started a business with his fiancee. And, he has people who support him. But, his past is hard to ignore. He's been in trouble since he was a teen. And, he's been in and out of prison for years. Now, he's facing another sentence. It's up to the judge to decide his fate.
