Trump's Energy Flip-Flops: A Puzzling Priority

In his early days as President, Trump signed several executive orders focusing on energy and climate policies. The mix of orders shows a bunch of confusing moves.
Trump wants the U. S. to lead in mining things like lithium and rare earth elements, which are key for making batteries, strong magnets, and advanced military tools. Sounds great, right? Except in another order, he's trying to slow down the growth of electric vehicles and wind turbines, which would use these very same minerals.
The orders also point out an urgent need for more power plants, pipelines, and refineries. But when it comes to renewable energy like solar or wind power, or even storing all that clean energy, he's not taking down any roadblocks. This makes little sense, especially since solar and wind are booming worldwide due to their economic advantages.
Putting it all together, Trump's energy plan seems to contradict itself. It's not really about securing the nation's power supply or boosting oil and gas production, which his supporters don't seem too keen on.
