This. Imagine handing over some of the government's most sensitive information, like the key to a vault filled with secrets, to a guy who runs a tech company.
This is what allegedly happened with the Trump administration. They gave some of Elon Musk's young employees permission to access federal computer systems. From the look of things, Trump seemed to trust Musk with virtually unrericted access.
According to some top legal experts from 19 different states, things got bad. What was said to be a way to cut costs, ended up being a backdoor to meddle with federal funding. The group in question, known as DOGE (No, not the doggy-themed cryptocurrency), was said to be attempting to cut off federal funding from certain groups.
Musk publicly confirmed his intentions to do so on social media, causing a stir.
Now imagine accessing the U. S. Treasury Department’s payment system, which handles payments like Social Security benefits, veteran’s pensions, and federal paychecks. This is where things get really serious. Musk's team was given access to this.
Elon Musk, the mastermind behind SpaceX and Tesla, is well-known for his bold ambitions and his use of social media. Recently, he has been a topic of debate, with accusations flying left and right about his intentions and actions. Eighteen democratic state attorneys general are making their case against him, claiming he broke the Constitution and failed to follow laws enacted by Congress.
In essence, the lawsuit argues that Trump team had grossly abused their legal authority.
Remember, there were attempts to get a comment from the White House, but no one was available to talk.
Also, as of the time of this writing, the Trump administration hasn't responded to these allegations.
