Turkey Pastry Label Mix‑Up Sparks Safety Alert
Midwest USA, Cleveland,Sat Mar 14 2026
A safety notice has been released for frozen, ready‑to‑eat turkey pastries that were mislabeled. The U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service says the items, shipped to Costco stores in the Midwest, were sold as turkey‑pesto‑cheese pockets but actually contain ham and cheese. Because the product is no longer sold, a formal recall was not requested.
The alert covers 25. 4‑ounce cartons that hold eight pockets, identified by lot code 04926 and a best‑by date of 02/18/27. These packages were sealed on February 18, 2026 and carry the USDA inspection mark with establishment number P‑51243A. The Food Safety Inspection Service received two consumer complaints about the mislabeling.
Customers who still possess the product are advised to return it to the store where they bought it. For further details, contact the food safety director at Shaw Bakers LLC via email at sharanya. bhaskara@shawbakers. com.
