To tackle these issues, a new approach called TFGAT with GLATM was introduced. This method uses Transformers to extract global information from the Bitcoin network and pays selective attention to local information from connected transactions. This helps in better detection of illegal activities.
Moreover, a Deep Cyclic Pseudo-Label Updating Mechanism (DCPLU) was introduced to make the most of the limited labeled data. This mechanism enhances data distribution and model robustness without relying on complex assumptions. It improves model performance while keeping the model's response time fast.
Experiments showed that this new approach outperformed existing models in various metrics. This means it could be a powerful tool in the fight against money laundering in the Bitcoin network.
However, it's important to note that technology alone can't solve this problem. It's a complex issue that requires a combination of technological solutions, regulatory frameworks, and international cooperation. As Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies continue to evolve, so too must the methods used to detect and prevent illegal activities.
