These stories are common in Utah. The birth rate in Utah has dropped. In 2007, families had 2. 65 children on average. Now, it's down to 1. 8. Many families are realizing they can't afford to have more kids. Nearly half of working parents would prefer one parent to stay home. But most families need two incomes just to get by.Child care costs are a big problem. Infant care costs 78% more than college tuition. This is a huge burden for young families. Without support, parents are forced into tough decisions. These choices can affect their kids' futures. Investing in early childhood is important. It leads to better health, higher earnings, and stronger communities. Utah needs to support families with young kids. This will help parents make better choices for their families.
