Verizon faced a huge problem on Wednesday. Over 1. 5 million people reported issues on Downdetector. The outage lasted for hours. Verizon said sorry by offering a $20 credit. But customers have to work to get it.
First, Verizon said to use the myVerizon app. Then, they added you could call or chat for help. But some people got a message to wait for a text. The text came on January 16. It had a link to claim the credit.
To get the credit, log into your account. Go to Account Overview. Look for a red button that says Take Action or Mobile Actions. Click it. You’ll see a pop-up about the credit. Click Redeem Now. Verizon says the credit will show up in one or two billing cycles. Make sure it appears. If not, contact Verizon.
Verizon said the credit is not enough. But it’s their way of saying sorry. Many customers are upset. The credit is small. And it’s not automatic. The process is easy. But why can’t Verizon just add it to everyone’s bill?
Verizon later said you can claim the credit through phone, chat, or online. Not just the app.
