The overwhelming response from volunteers has been a lifeline, but it's also created challenges. Authorities ask new helpers to stay away to keep roads clear for emergency services. Instead, volunteers are asked to gather at a cultural center to organize work crews. Despite the hardships, Chiva's residents show remarkable resilience.
