The weather is taking a turn this weekend. A low-pressure system that's been hanging around the Great Lakes is finally moving out. Some places got a good amount of snow, but we don't have reports from last night or this morning. However, there were some reports from Friday evening.
Dry air messed with the snow totals on Thursday. The air didn't get fully saturated until late Thursday night. The weekend is going to be cold, but it's the warmest it's going to be for the next few days. Daytime highs will be in the teens today and Sunday. Wind chills could feel like the single digits because of breezy northwesterly winds.
Snow is expected to return on Sunday morning. Another clipper system to the north will bring light snow, up to about 2 inches at most. The real story is the cold that follows this system. Temperatures and wind chills will drop sharply on Sunday night and Monday.
Monday is a First Alert Weather Day because of the dangerous cold. It's a good idea to fill up on gas or get your car battery checked this weekend before the cold hits.
