Which High School Sports Teams Made the Biggest Impact Last Week?

New Jersey, USATue Apr 14 2026
High school sports in North Jersey just wrapped up another action-packed week. Most teams kept winning, but a few really stood out from the rest. Some squads even pulled off wins that surprised everyone watching. Now the big question is: which team deserves special recognition for their week? Bergen Tech’s boys lacrosse team didn’t lose a single game. They finished three wins in a row, bringing their season record to five wins with no losses. That hasn’t happened for them in over ten years. Fair Lawn’s softball team also had a perfect week, going four wins strong and scoring a whopping fifty runs. Meanwhile, Lakeland’s girls track team won their seventh county title in a row, showing they’re the best small-school team around.
Baseball and softball teams from Paramus Catholic and Pascack Valley also dominated. Paramus beat Northern Highlands by a wide margin early in the week. Pascack Valley ended a long losing streak against Old Tappan. Both teams finished with four straight wins. Passaic Tech’s boys track team kept their winning streak alive too, claiming their third county championship in a row. Some teams made history. Paterson Charter’s flag football squad won their very first game ever. Ridgewood’s girls lacrosse team pulled off a huge upset by beating the top-ranked team in the state. River Dell’s baseball team also pulled off an impressive win against Old Tappan. Wayne Valley’s flag football team didn’t just win three games – they crushed opponents by nearly fifty points each time. Fans now get to decide which team had the best week. Voting stays open until Thursday at five in the afternoon. Anyone can cast a vote online, though some people might need to clear their browser or try a different app to see the poll.
