Weather in DC is set to change a lot in a few days. It started with a cold front on Sunday. This brought strong winds of 15–25 mph. The temperature felt even colder than it was, staying in the low to mid 40s. The winds calmed down in the evening. Overnight, it stayed cold with temperatures dropping to the 20s.
Monday will be calm and dry. A high-pressure system will keep things stable. But it won't last long. By afternoon, it will move away. This means the weather will start to warm up.
Temperatures will rise into the 40s and low 50s on Monday. Tuesday will be even warmer, reaching the 50s. There might be some light rain in the mountains and Potomac Highlands on Tuesday night. A low-pressure system will pass through the Great Lakes. It might bring a few showers.
Wednesday will see another front moving through. This will bring a quick wind shift and some rain, especially in the western mountains. After that, Thursday and Friday will be very mild. Temperatures will be in the 50s to lower 60s. Nights will also stay warmer, often above freezing.
By the end of the week, the weather might become more unsettled. There could be more rain on Friday. A cool-down is expected heading into next weekend.
