Primrose Farm is not slowing down this winter. The farm has a lot going on, especially with their new Education Center. There are plenty of activities for all ages, from crafts to science experiments and even role-playing games. For those who enjoy creating things, there are several craft programs. Polar Bear Needle Felting is a great way to learn a new skill. Participants aged 16 and up can make a cute polar bear using wool from the farm's sheep. This program takes place on January 24th from 1 to 3 p. m. If you have a sweet tooth, you might enjoy Hot Cocoa and Cookie Bake. Kids aged 8 to 13 can make their own cocoa and cookies from scratch. This program runs on January 17th and February 14th from 10 a. m. to noon. For a different kind of sweet treat, check out Sugar Free Felted Treats. This program for those 16 and older involves making felted lollipops and caramels. It takes place on February 7th from 10 a. m. to noon. Science lovers will have a blast with the DNA Discovery programs. DNA Discovery Jr. is perfect for kids aged 3 and up. They can smash fruit and learn about DNA. This program is on January 30th from 10 to 11:30 a. m. Older kids can try DNA: Discovery: Homeschool Edition. They will extract DNA from fruit using scientific tools. No prior experience is needed. This program is on February 4th from 10 to 11:30 a. m.
For a fun date activity, consider Did I Marry a Mutant? A DNA Date Day Lab. Participants aged 18 and up can explore their unique genetic traits with a partner or friend. This program takes place on Valentine's Day, February 14th, from 1 to 3:30 p. m. If you enjoy solving mysteries, Mini Vet School: Viral Outbreak! is for you. Participants aged 8 and up will use real lab methods to track and stop a virus outbreak. This program is on February 21st from 1 to 3 p. m. For those who prefer indoor activities, Pathfinder at Primrose is a new tabletop gaming program. It is geared toward older kids and teens. The program runs on January 31st and February 28th from 2 to 6 p. m. Outdoor activities are also available. Primrose Playgroup is perfect for parents and young children aged 1 to 3. They can learn about the farm animals and beat cabin fever. Playgroups take place on various Wednesdays from January 28th to February 25th. Farm Fun Day offers hands-on activities like collecting eggs and feeding livestock. This program is for kids aged 8 to 12 and takes place on various dates in January and February. Home School Homesteaders is for kids aged 8 to 14. They can learn about animal husbandry, growing food, and even cooking on a wood-burning stove. This program runs on various Fridays from January 16th to February 27th. Primrose Farm is open year-round, and the Education Center provides a warm place to learn and have fun.
