The Plainfield YMCA will host a women’s health expo on Saturday, March 21, from 9:30 to 11 a. m. The venue is the C. W. Avery YMCA at 15120 Wallin Drive.
State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel is the main organizer and will speak at the event. She has invited local leaders such as Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino‑Tarrant, State Representative Natalie Manley from Joliet, House Assistant Majority Leader Dagmara Avelar of Romeoville, and staff from Emediate Cure.
Speakers will cover a range of topics that affect women’s well‑being, with special emphasis on menopause and nutrition. They aim to give attendees practical tips for managing hormonal changes and maintaining a healthy diet during this life stage.
The expo offers an opportunity for community members to learn from experts, ask questions, and explore resources that support women’s health. By gathering local officials and medical professionals together, the event hopes to raise awareness about common challenges women face.
Participants can expect interactive sessions, informational booths, and free health screenings. The organizers want to create a supportive environment where women feel comfortable discussing sensitive issues in a public setting.
The event reflects growing attention to women’s health concerns across the region, encouraging residents to take proactive steps toward better wellness.
