You're a young adult from Latin America, living in the US. You face a tough political scene where migrants of color aren't treated fairly. The government's immigration rules and talk can make you feel unsafe and powerless.
A study in Virginia looked into how these young adults think about and deal with these issues. They talked to 30 migrant young adults, mostly around 20 years old, and nearly half were female.
These young people had different thoughts on why immigration policies are unfair. Some saw it as a system-wide problem, while others blamed individual actions. Interestingly, those who understood the bigger picture were more likely to take action against these unfair rules.
But it wasn't easy for everyone. Many faced hurdles that made it hard for them to stand up and fight back. Understanding what drives them and what holds them back can help researchers and helpers support these young adults better.
