Streaming services have had a wild ride lately. Prices have gone up and down, and people are switching services more than ever. YouTube TV saw a lot of people leave when Disney channels went dark for two weeks. Even a $20 credit didn't keep many subscribers. Other services like DirecTV Stream and Hulu + Live TV also saw changes, with Hulu gaining the most new subscribers.
YouTube TV is now trying to win back customers with a special deal. New subscribers who also have Verizon's home internet or mobile plan can get the service for $62. 99 a month for six months. That's $20 off the usual price of $82. 99. The deal is perfect for sports fans, as it covers the rest of the NFL season, college football, and March Madness.
This deal comes at a good time for YouTube TV. Sports fans are looking for ways to watch their favorite games, and this offer gives them a chance to try the service without a long-term commitment. Plus, with unlimited DVR storage, they can record and watch highlights whenever they want.
But why are streaming services offering so many deals? For one, prices are going up everywhere, and people are cutting back on spending. About 64% of cord-cutters dropped a streaming service in the past year because of rising costs. Streamers are also raising prices to keep up with the cost of making good content.
YouTube TV isn't just for sports fans, though. It offers over 100 channels, including local broadcasts, news, and entertainment. Recently, it relaunched NBC Sports Network and announced plans for a sports-only package starting in 2026. The service also improved its Multiview feature, making it easier to watch multiple channels at once.
