Zac Brown, the famous country singer, is in the middle of a heated legal battle with his ex-wife, Kelly Yazdi. Things got more intense on Tuesday when Yazdi posted a series of photos on Instagram. These photos were meant to show how Brown's new relationship with jewelry designer Kendra Scott is eerily similar to their marriage. Yazdi's post included side-by-side images of her and Brown next to Brown and Scott, highlighting similar activities and moments.
The legal troubles between Brown and Yazdi started back in May 2024. Brown accused Yazdi of defaming him and violating a confidentiality agreement. This was after Yazdi posted a poem on Instagram that Brown believed was about him. The poem talked about a love that was "conditional" and "disguised, " but really about "control. " Brown claimed that the poem was defamatory and that Yazdi had forwarded sensitive documents concerning his business to her personal email.
Yazdi, however, has a different story. She claims that Brown began complaining about her posting modeling photos on Instagram just a few months after they got married. She also alleges that Brown used their private wedding video in a music video, replacing her with a lookalike model. The model in the video was seen dancing and taking pills. Brown, on the other hand, said the footage with the model was shot in 2018 and that Yazdi wanted footage from their wedding video to be included in his music video for the song "Beautiful Drug. "
The lawsuit is still ongoing, and a trial has been scheduled for September. In a TikTok video, Yazdi expressed her frustration, saying, "Why this guy just won't leave me alone, I don't know. " She also mentioned that the legal battle has been emotionally and financially draining.
In response to Yazdi's Instagram post, a representative for Brown said it's a shame that Yazdi has "attempted to overshadow a joyful milestone with desperate fiction for clicks. " The representative also stated that Yazdi's comments are "categorically false and a work of pure imagination. "
Meanwhile, Yazdi told HuffPost that she didn't have any additional comments and said her Instagram post "speaks for itself. " She also expressed her eagerness for their dispute to get a public hearing before a jury.
