Two separate track meets wrapped up this weekend, with local teams showing strong performances. At the Saginaw Valley League meet, Heritage High dominated the boys’ competition, securing the title with 139 points. Nick Coleman stood out, breaking his own records in the 200m and 400m dashes. Meanwhile, Frankenmuth’s track team claimed wins at two invitational meets, proving their distance running strength with relay victories.
In baseball, Heritage split a doubleheader against Hemlock, with Blake Stevens and Alex McNish leading the offense. The Hawks’ bullpen held strong in the second game, ensuring the win. Over in softball, Swan Valley defeated Hemlock in two close games, thanks to Mia Robinson’s dominant pitching and strong hitting from the Vikings’ lineup.
Girls’ soccer saw Midland High cruise past Bay City John Glenn 6-1. Moriah Fulcher’s five-point performance—two goals and three assists—highlighted Midland’s offensive firepower. The team’s ability to control possession and create chances made the difference early in the match.
