Local High School Athletes Shine in Recent Games

In the world of high school sports, some standout players have been making waves. Let's take a look at some of the top performers from the past week. First up, we have Liam Bowers, a senior kicker from Cardinal Mooney Catholic. He had an impressive week on the football field, making all his extra-point kicks and both of his field goal attempts. He also had a long kick of 36 yards and managed to punt for a total of 93 yards. His team faced off against Cocoa, and Bowers' performance definitely made a difference. But Bowers isn't the only one making headlines. In basketball, Anthony Bailey from Braden River scored 27 points and had a well-rounded game with rebounds, assists, and steals. Justin Brock from Sarasota Christian also had a great game, scoring 17 points and dishing out 9 assists. Malakai Cuffy from Cardinal Mooney scored 21 points in a big win, while Zahmir Jackson from Imagine School scored 15 points in a tough loss. Wesley Woods from Imagine School also had a strong performance with 18 points and 14 rebounds.Over on the soccer field, Andrew Carrillo from Out-of-Door Academy scored four goals in a dominant win. Yandiel Garcia from Lakewood Ranch scored twice and added an assist in his team's victory. And in the state championship football game, Elijah Golden from Cardinal Mooney put pressure on the opposing team's quarterback, finishing with 2. 5 sacks. Connail Jackson from Cardinal Mooney had an incredible game, rushing for 161 yards and four touchdowns. Bo O'Daniel, also from Cardinal Mooney, caught three touchdowns in the big win.
