Local high school basketball teams had an exciting night on Tuesday, January 6th. The games were packed with drama, big plays, and impressive performances.
In girls' basketball, Notre Dame's teams both came out on top against Bay Port. The Tritons' girls won 57-49, thanks to Destiny Webster's 17 points and some clutch free throws. The boys also secured a 60-54 victory, led by Austin Hendricks' 20 points.
Seymour's girls basketball team had a dominant performance, crushing Green Bay East 100-26. Natalie Rudnick led the way with 24 points, and 10 other players also scored for Seymour.
The Wrightstown boys basketball team had a thrilling double-overtime win against Luxemburg-Casco, with Daniel Buntin and Jack Genke each scoring 15 points. Meanwhile, Gibraltar's Marco Jauregui hit a last-second three-pointer to give his team a 59-57 win over Southern Door.
In other games, De Pere's girls and boys teams both had strong wins, with Aubree Fischer and Javon Miller leading the way, respectively. Pulaski's boys team also had a big win, with Bohdan Schmidt scoring 20 points.
The games showed a lot of talent and excitement from local teams. It's clear that the season is heating up, and fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks.
